Mettler Packaging has formulated eight thematic areas that are priorities for the company in terms of aspects of sustainability and that form an integral component of our business activities:
1. Recycling and resource efficiency
Mettler Packaging’s sustainability strategy relates to the whole of the life cycle of a product including the manufacturing, use and disposal phases.
|»||Promoting alternative raw materials

|»||Rational use of packaging
We promote the rational use of packaging for efficient deployment of energy and resources and to reduce consumption of mineral oil.

2. Climate and environmental protection
We are constantly working to achieve the maximum reduction in consumption of water and energy and in production waste at our company and manufacturing locations and to enhance our processes from an ecological and economic perspective.
|»||Climate and environmental protection at the company
Mettler Packaging’s state-of-the-art production facilities and complex environmental, quality and safety management systems enable it to fulfil the most demanding of standards.
We reduce the burden on the environment via techniques such as closed water loops, the use of rain water, the thermic and regenerative cleaning of exhaust air and heat recovery systems.
We also place great emphasis on efficient logistics. We achieve this via short transport routes and optimum utilisation of our modern vehicle fleet. At Mettler Packaging, waste is sorted. 98% of production waste is recycled.
Mettler Packaging also invests in the replanting of trees and plants on the company site.

We promote measures to protect the environment against plastic waste. Mettler Packaging believes that systematic disposal and recycling models are the most effective form of environmental protection.
